Welcome to the A-side.
Hey {{first_name | Mixtape Reader}},
You just subscribed to Mixtape Millionaire, and we're genuinely glad you're here.
Here's the deal: most financial content is written for 25-year-olds who are just starting out, or for millionaires who already made it. There's almost nothing for the people in between - the Gen Xers in peak earning years who are trying to figure out how to maximize the next 10-15 years before retirement comes knocking.
That's exactly who we're writing for. You.
Three times a week, we'll drop one clear, actionable money story in your inbox. No fluff, no jargon, no lectures about saving your coffee money. Just the moves that matter.
Here's what to expect:
🎵 Monday - The Market Move (what's happening and what it means for you)
🎵 Wednesday - The Actionable Play (one concrete thing you can do this week)
🎵 Friday - The Mixtape Mix (protection corner, cashflow boost, reader mailbox)
🎵 Track 1: The One Thing Most Gen Xers Miss in Their 401k
If you're 50 or older, the IRS lets you contribute an extra $8,000 to your 401k on top of the standard $24,500 limit. That's a total of $32,500 you can sock away this year, tax-deferred.
It's called the catch-up contribution, and it's one of the biggest wealth-building tools available specifically to people our age. Those between 60 and 63 years of age are eligible to make a “Super” catch-up contribution of an extra $11,250 for a total of $35,750.
Most people know it exists. Very few people are actually maxing it.
The move: Log into your 401k provider today. Confirm your contribution rate. If you're not hitting $32,500 annually (and most people aren't), increase it by even 1-2% and set a calendar reminder to bump it again in 90 days.
Small increases compound. That's not a cliche, it's math.
That's Side A for today.
